Mrs. Erin O'Malley
Erin O’Malley has been the Principal of Saint Theresa Catholic School since 2018. Prior to that, she was the Dean (Assistant Principal) of Student Services at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA, and has served in the capacity of Director of Student Services, school counseling director, school counselor, and teacher in Catholic and public schools. Within those years, she served one year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in San Antonio, Texas, as a lead teacher to students with cognitive and intellectual disabilities at two church-based education programs. She is the President of the Arlington (Diocese) Principals Association; is a member of several education associations, and serves on national boards for education and counseling.
Mrs. O'Malley earned her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and English and her Master’s degree in School Counseling, both from the University of Scranton, PA, and received her Post-Masters Leadership and Administration Certification at The George Washington University. She has completed several additional masters- and doctoral-level courses in education and counseling over the years at Widener University and VA Polytechnic Institute and State University. She holds her state licenses in teaching, counseling, and administration.
A product of Catholic education, she is deeply committed to Catholic education, her Catholic faith, and service to others. A long time educator, she is grateful to serve and support the amazing faculty, staff, and students at Saint Theresa Catholic School and values her relationships with and the commitment of the St. Theresa families. She and her family are members of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, VA.
