Dr. Terence J. Husband
Dr. Terence J. Husband is in his eighth year as Religion Teacher at Saint Theresa Catholic School. Dr. Husband has taught an elective course at St. Theresa titled "Introduction to Philosophy," based on the Classical Tradition. Prior to joining the staff at St. Theresa, he worked as a newspaper reporter, columnist and later editor; as managing editor of a national publishing company; and as Editorial Director of the Washington Redskins (now Commanders).
Most of Dr. Husband's academic background stems from his years at Georgetown University. His dissertation ("Cicero and the Moral Education of Youth") at Georgetown was directed by renowned author, lecturer and historian Fr. John W. O'Malley, S.J. Dr. Husband also undertook scholarly work ("Girolamo Savonarola: Orthodox Reformer or Religious Fanatic?") under the guidance of Dr. Francis J. Ambrosio, Ph.D., Director of Georgetown's Philosophy Department.
To gain a greater understanding of, and a greater appreciation for, the views and teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas is an ongoing pursuit for Dr. Husband. Further, he has spent a significant portion of his life in Ireland (Kilmeaden, Co., Waterford and Headford, Co. Galway) and as a consequence values the opportunity to teach St. Patrick's Confessio to St. Theresa students each year in the approach to March 17.
