Course Description

1870 to the Modern Era
 
8A- 8th Period
8B- 6th Period
 
STREAM Seminar- Wednesdays
 
Chapter 7- The Progressive Era- Working in groups, students will present and teach 1 section of the chapter to their fellow classmates. Through these group presentations, students will learn:
  • how progressives fought corruption in business and government
  • ways in which reforms affected the lives of women and other groups in the late 1800s
  • why Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft were known as progressive presidents
  • how minority groups reacted to discrimination

Social Studies Review Sessions

Mrs. Whitfield will hold a review session for 8th grade in the library after school Tuesday, December 17th. Mrs. McFadden will help and review with any 6th or 7th graders in her classroom after school Tuesday, December 17th. Students should be picked up by 4:15 pm. 

Car Raffle, Car Raffle, Car Raffle!

Don't forget to turn your car raffle tickets in tomorrow, Wednesday October 23rd in order to be counted in the class participation competition. The Middle School teachers are all neck and neck, so every ticket makes a difference.  Tomorrow is the last day to be counted in the class competition.
